LAKOTA BAND SHOWCASE This year's WLHS 89.9 FM Lakota Band Showcase Friday, May 13 featured seven bands ranging from acoustic singer/songerwriters to death metal bands. About 350 parents and students were in attendance at Lakota East High School's theater. According to WLHS station adviser Mark Hattersley nearly 30 bands entered demos. Seven bands were selected based on votes from his Radio II class. Proceeds from the event went to the station, which self-generates 20 to 25 percent of its funding.
