US dollar down in Europe
LONDON — The U.S. dollar was lower against other major currencies in European trading Friday morning. Gold fell.
The euro traded at $1.5487, up from $1.5454 late Thursday in New York.

_1.0531 Swiss francs, down from 1.0565
_0.9992 Canadian dollars, down from 1.0009
The British pound was quoted at $1.9488 up from $1.9451.
Gold traded in London at $885.00 per troy ounce, down from $886.70 late Thursday.
Silver opened in London at $16.79, up from $16.53.
