Cintas to close two Kentucky plants
Wednesday, December 03, 2008
MASON — Cintas Corp. announced it will close two Kentucky manufacturing plants due to low product demand. The closures will eliminate almost 300 jobs.
The Mason-based company reported the plant closures in a filing to Kentucky's Office of Employment and Training. The company will close its Owingsville plant, which produces pants and employs 148 people. It will also close its Hazard facility, which manufacturers shirts and employs 150 people, Cintas said in the filing.
The company will transfer production to other facilities, officials said.
Cintas manufactures and supplies uniforms and apparel, restroom supplies, mats, as well as first aid, document management, and fire protection services to businesses worldwide.
