Local man killed in accident on Ohio Bypass 4
Wednesday, October 15, 2008
FAIRFIELD TWP. — A Hamilton man has died as a result of a two-car crash on Ohio Bypass 4, police confirmed late Tuesday night.
The crash, which injured three others, occurred between Tylersville and Hamilton-Mason roads at about 8:14 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, Fairfield Twp. police said.
Officials said the driver of a white Isuzu Rodeo, a 44-year-old Hamilton man, died at the scene. Police were not releasing the identities of the drivers or the occupants of the vehicles.
Police said the Isuzu was traveling south on Bypass 4, went left of center and missed one car but hit a white Cadillac Escalade head on. Bypass 4 was closed for about three hours.
Shortly after the wreck, a mother and her two pre-teen children —who were in the Escalade — were taken by ambulance to Atrium Medical Center, according to police.
Travis Boggs said he witnessed the crash while driving back to work.
"I was driving right behind him," Boggs said. "He was swerving back and forth between lanes. I kept honking at him to get his attention. But then he swerved left again and hit the Escalade head on."
