HAMILTON — A Huber Heights man accused of trying to nab a 9-year-old Middletown girl off her bike in June now faces more charges.
Randy L. Stanaford, 31, was charged with abduction last month in Middletown Muncipal Court but a Butler County grand jury added charges of kidnapping with a sexual motivation, burglary and two counts of indecent exposure, when it handed down indictments last week.
Police found personal items from an April break-in at a Middletown home when they searched Stanaford's residence June 9, three days after he allegedly tried to grab the girl behind Berachah Baptist Church, said Middletown police Detective David Swartzel.
Stanaford was arrested the next day in Franklin Twp., where he was holed up in the home of a relative, according to police.
The indecent exposure charges also come from Middletown, where Stanaford often stopped while hunting for "Star Wars" action figures. Both instances were caught on tape and involved children, Swartel said.
Dayton police announced last month that following Stanaford's June 10 arrest in Middletown they were able to link him to a June 3 incident in which he allegedly exposed himself to two girls, ages 8 and 9, on Niagara Avenue in Dayton. He has not been charged in that incident.
Stanaford is being held in the Butler County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bond. He faces more than 15 years in prison if convicted of all charges.
