The Franklin man accused of stabbing a bar patron and spitting at a police officer was indicted on four counts Monday, July 14.

When asked to leave a private club May 24, Kevin Florence, 28, of Franklin allegedly fought with another bar patron and then stabbed the victim twice in the abdomen.

Warren County Prosecutor Rachel Hutzel said the victim has recovered but has permanent damage from the attack.

Police located the defendant and took him to a hospital, where he spit onto a police officer while still in custody, according to the indictment.

Florence was indicted on two counts of felonious assault, one count of resisting arrest and one count of harassment with bodily substance for allegedly spitting at the officer. His arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, in Warren County Common Pleas Court. He faces up to eight years in prison.

Florence is being held at the Warren County Jail.
