Maupin Memorial Ride scheduled for July 13

UNION TWP., CLERMONT COUNTY — The first Matt Maupin Memorial Ride will be held July 13.
The 57-mile parade-style ride through Clermont County will have events at the beginning and end. The Heroes Foundation will be planting a tree in honor of Maupin prior to takeoff and bands, food and lots of other activities are scheduled.

Maupin was a soldier who was captured by Iraqi insurgents in April 2004. His remains were discovered and brought home this past April.
Cost of the event, which begins at 9 a.m., is $20 per bike. All proceeds benefit the Yellow Ribbon Support Center, which relies on donations and contributions to send to service members overseas. In the event of rain, the ride will happen at the same time July 20.
