Middletown man, two others die in crash

GRATIS TWP., Preble County — Three people died Sunday, June 15 in a two-car crash in southern Preble County, including two at the scene and a third who died later at Miami Valley Hospital, said State Trooper Sgt. Jeff Kramer.
Two others, a 58-year old woman and a five-year old boy sustained critical injuries and were in surgery on Sunday evening.

The crash occurred at about 4:25 p.m. at the intersection of South Ohio 122 and Greenbush Road when 58-year old Gary Allan Bolinger of Middletown, who was driving a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix and traveling north along Ohio 122, went left of center to pass a vehicle that had slowed down in preparation for a left turn onto Greenbush. Bolinger's vehicle then crashed head on into a 1997 Ford Taurus.
Bolinger and a front-seat passenger in the Taurus, whose name was not released, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Taurus was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, where he died of injuries.
A 58-year old female passenger in Bolinger's vehicle was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley, where she was in surgery on Sunday evening.
Bolinger's five-year old grandson was in the rear seat of the Grand Prix and flown by helicopter to Cincinnati Children's Hospital where he, too, was in surgery Sunday evening.
