1 — The West Chester Summer Concert Series kicks off at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Keehner Park Amphitheater at 7211 Barret Road. The first performance includes the Monday Night Band. Eastwind Acoustic Guitars is on deck for June 21.

2 — Catholic festival season kicks off locally this weekend with the St. Maximilian Kolbe Festival from 6 p.m. to midnight today, June 6, 5 p.m. to midnight Saturday, June 7, and 3 to 10 p.m. Sunday, June 8. St. Max is located at 5720 Hamilton-Mason Road. The annual Queen of Peace festival at 2550 Millville Ave. in Hamilton also will take place all weekend and include its notorious chicken dinner Sunday. 3 — The Hueston Woods Arts and Crafts Festival is slated for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 7 and 8. The event is an open market for artisans and crafters. Visitors will be able to purchase works in wood, iron, silver, painting photography, rocks, toys and more. For more information, call (513) 523-8687. 4 — Yard sale junkies should head to Monroe this weekend for the city's 22nd annual community sales. A map, list of sellers and items for sale is available until 5 p.m. today, June 6, at the Monroe City Building, 223 S. Main St. There are at least 140 places to visit, so plan to shop 'til you drop. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 7, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 8.
5 — Middletown will host the Main Street Arts and Music Festival on Saturday, June 7, and there will be a little Unfinished Business (that's the name of a band). Other musicians and plenty of food and art will be on hand. The event is free. For more information, call (513) 424-6244.
