Electrical short at Amanda Elementary
Tuesday, March 11, 2008
Amanda Elementary School students file past a fire truck Monday, March 10, after an electrical short above the ceiling in one of the classrooms kicked the breaker and shut off electricity to the Middletown elementary school building. There were no injuries, and damage was minimal — a 1-inch diameter hole in an accoustical ceiling panel, according to school officials. The classroom where the repair was needed was closed off, all power and systems were reinstated and students returned to their classes for the balance of the school day. The repair, which was made after school hours, should be complete well before the start of school today, March 11, according to district officials.
