WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Little League International officials said today they are requesting the vaccination records of all players after a member of the Japanese team was diagnosed with measles.
According to Little League International, the player from Japan was diagnosed with the contagious disease on Thursday. The player, whose name has not been released by the League, has been quarantined and prohibited from playing since he was diagnosed.

As a precaution, anyone born in 1957 or later and staying in the apartment-style dorms is being asked to submit a written statement from a physician to the Pennsylvania Department of Health "attesting to the fact the person has in the past contracted measles" and provide the department with all immunization records.
If neither step is taken, the Department of Health is requiring players to take blood tests and receive an immunization for measles, mumps and rubella.
If none of the steps are taken, the League said players must remain in the Williamsport area until Sept. 4.
"Little League International continues to take steps to ensure the player's comfort and to receive the appropriate medical attention," according to a League news release. "He remains isolated from others until Little League receives confirmation from medical authorities that he is no longer contagious."
