SPRINGBORO — Miami Valley Hospital and Springboro Community Schools embarked on an $11 million partnership Tuesday to construct a 40,000-square-foot building for school and hospital use behind the newly named CareFlight Field.
The hospital will repay the school loan, financed through a state fund for school construction, in annual payments rising from $720,000 this year to $1.1 million in 22 years.

The money will fund improvements, such as installing artificial turf and 1,000 new seats at the high school football stadium, to which the hospital also gained naming rights.
Students and staff will use offices, locker rooms and a weight room in 12,500 square feet of the building. The hospital will staff the rest of the $9 million, four-story structure with offices for doctors in a range of specialties, including sports medicine.
"This is an historic moment for Springboro Community Schools and its residents," said superintendent David Baker during a ceremony on the field.
Students, staff and other residents will be be able to see doctors and specialists on the school campus, off Ohio 741, south of downtown Springboro.
Sports medicine experts will be on hand for practices and games "for both the home and visiting teams," Mary Boosalis, president and CEO of Miami Valley Hospital.
"It's new and unique for us," Boosalis said.
But it's the second time a Warren County school district has partnered with a hospital.
In January, Mason City Schools agreed to finance a $5 million health and wellness center next to its stadium as part of an agreement with Middletown Regional Hospital to provide athletic training and rehabilitation services. That agreement did not include naming rights.
