SOAR-Cancer
Strength, Optimism And Recovery, a women's breast cancer support group,
focuses on the concerns and issues unique to breast cancer survivors. The
group is open to all women in the community, regardless of the length of
time from diagnosis. Group meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the first Tuesday of
every month in Dining Room 2C, Kettering Hospital, 3535 Southern Blvd.,

Southwest Ohio Brain Tumor
This group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. the second Monday of the month in Dining
Room 1, Kettering Hospital. It is for patients, family members and/or
friends who have been diagnosed with a brain tumor. Call (937) 298-3399,

Spina Bifida
Adults with myelomeningocele and parents of children with myelomeningocele
are welcome to attend this group, which is associated with Greater Dayton

Stroke
For survivors of stroke, their friends and family. This group meets at
various times throughout the year in the Neurorehabilitation Unit of

Stroke
This support group encourages stroke victims and their families to understand
and better cope with disabilities that can result from stroke. It offers
information about strokes, the opportunity to make new friends, a forum to
discuss solutions to daily problems and the chance for personal growth and
improved self-esteem. Group meets from 7 to 9 p.m. the third Thursday of
each month in the Rehabilitation Center Activity Room, fifth floor,

Other Passages Support Group is for suicide attempters, persons considering
suicide, and those dealing with a personal crisis that involves suicide.

Survivors of Suicide (S.O.S.)
Group offers support for family and friends following the suicide death of a
loved one. The group is open only to adults over 18 years. Meetings are at 7
p.m. the first and third Monday of each month at Miami Valley Hospital,

The Wellness Community
Provides psychological and social support services designed to nurture home
and to help people learn how to take back control of their lives after a

This group is for teen survivors of child sexual abuse. Free and

Tender Hearts
This group is for families, parents and friends of children with any heart
disease or defect. Guest speakers and discussion sessions provide members

Tourette Syndrome
For parents of children with Tourette Syndrome, which is a rare neurological
disorder characterized by involuntary and repetitive twitches. The group

United Ostomy Association, Middletown Chapter
Middletown Chapter of UOA is a support group for Ostomates and their
families. What is an Ostomate? An ordinary person, who due to a medical
problem, has had a surgical procedure which alters the way in which they
take care of normal bodily functions. The most common are Colostomy,
Ileostomy and Urostomy. Group meets at 6:30 p.m. the third Monday of each
