Oakwood shop named “national treasure” in women’s magazine
Nicole Gianuglou and her staff at Oakwood’s Preen Apothecary have reason to blush.
The beauty boutique is featured as a “national treasure” in the “New Way to Shop” supplemental delivered to homes with the September edition of “Marie Claire” Magazine.
The shop at 2508 Far Hills Ave. is listed among the magazine’s 13 picks for “National Treasures for beauty enthusiasts from coast-to-coast.”
“It’s Miami, Florida, New York, New York and Oakwood, Ohio,” said Gianuglou, a former national make-up artist for Nars Cosmetics. “I can’t believe we are in there… It’s excited for us. It like validation. ”
She said she is thrilled that the Dayton area has received such national attention.
The supplemental is also included with Marie Claire editions purchased at several stores, including Walmart and Border’s Bookstores.
Preen is called adorable and a great place to book a party.
