Chamber of Commerce endorses search firm

Middletown Chamber of Commerce Director Bill Triick addressed the Middletown Board of Education today to endorse a search firm.

Triick said the board should select Boston-based Carney and Associates to lead the search for a new superintendent.

Triick said the district must employ the best search strategy, which would be to recruit the best candidates and convince them to apply.

Triick said the Ohio School Boards Assocation, another consultant the board is considering, does not recruit (because they work for most school boards in Ohio and do not “cherry pick” from their members.)

The board should select a firm at a special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the board office, 1515 Girard Ave.

I agree completely and I”d like to know more about the raise for administrators that they approved.
