Board president has no problem with Price applying elsewhere
Middletown Board of Education President Greg Tyus said he has no problem with Superintendent Steve Price applying to other schools.
Price has now applied to three districts in recent months, with his latest application to Beavercreek, near Dayton.
“People apply and move elsewhere all the time,” Tyus said. “He feels that’s what he needs to do or what he desires to do, I have no problem with that.”
Tyus said Price did inform the board of his application to Beavercreek.
Price has a contract with Middletown through 2011. Tyus said it’s too soon for the board to tell whether they intend to renew his contract when it expires.

Hopefully Tyus and the rest of the board have no problem with Price applying because they want him gone and wouldn’t renew his contract in 2011 anyway.By les johnson

Leaving a district is the most difficult decision a superintendent can make. You have to know when it your time. I still regret my decision to leave when I did because Middletown was so good to me. Good luck to Dr. Price and I hope the district is doing well.By me

Mr Johnson, with all due respect, I think this is not a tough decision for Mr Price. For him to apply to 3 other districts, it shows he has no desire to be here. I hope he gets hired by some other district before 2011. All I can say is good riddance once he does leave.By Concerned Parent

I hope he gets an offer by 2011. Otherwise, the school board needs to make the decision. Most of the city/parents do not want him here.By slapdash

Mr. Johnson, The district is not doing well. A consultant firm has been hired to deal with our “equity” issues. This cost taxpayers money. As a former Sup, I am sure you could understand the statement: “We don’t need a consulting firm from CA telling us how to run our district”……… And google Pacific Education Group…….. Very telling.
