Schools will be in session on President’s Day

Three local schools will be in session on President’s Day.

Madison Local Schools recently announced students would be attending on the Feb. 16 holiday to make up for exceeding the five calamity days schools are allowed to miss before they must make up day.

Middletown City Schools and Valley View students will also be attending on President’s Day.

Ten of the 11 Middletown schools have to make up three days of school because of closings this week and last, as well as during the September windstorm.

Miller Ridge Elementary needs to make up four days since they were closed one additional day during the wind storm because of an electrical power outage.

All Valley View students and staff will attend school on February 16, June 8, 9 and 10, 2009. Farmersville Elementary students will attend school on an additional day, June 11, 2009 because of the additional calamity day on September 17, 2008.
