Hayes, Haddix lead Miami men in exhibition win

Kenny Hayes scored a team-high 22 points in his return to game action for Miami University’s basketball team, which defeated California (Pa.) 82-65 in an exhibition game today, Nov. 1 at Millett Hall.
Hayes, who missed most of last season with a wrist injury, also had a team-high seven assists.
Rodney Haddix added 20 points and nailed 5-of-5 shots from the 3-point stripe, and Eric Soderberg chipped in with nine points and four assists. Adam Fletcher and Nick Winbush each had six rebounds.
Miami shot 53.6 percent from the floor and made 9-of-23 shots from the arc.
The 82 points were the most scored by Miami in an exhibition game since Nov. 6, 2006, when the RedHawks defeated Wilberforce 88-35.
