Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day!

Today is the 38th annual celebration of the planet we call home, and a day to step back and think about things we can do to preserve and restore our natural resources…

So that’s the official line on Earth Day, but I want to know: what do YOU think about Earth Day?

Is it a time to reflect on accomplishments?

A time to call for more action?

Or something in-between?

Send a post, let us know, then go outside and do something good for the planet.

A green browsing suggestion

If you’re reading this, then you’re clearly not adverse to getting your news and information online.

I do much of my research for this blog online, so I thought it would only be appropriate to start sharing with you some of the sites I visit. I’ve done this on and off in past posts, but now I’m going to make a more structured effort to get them to you.

Today’s site, Green Energy news, deals with (gasp!) renewable energy and its many facets. Solar farms, wind power, alternative fuel for mass transit; all are topics covered in this blog/newsletter.

One section I thought was interesting was the list of RFPs from businesses and governments looking for green power contractors. It’s a full list - if that doesn’t mean alternative energy is gaining acceptance, I don’t know what does.

Take a look at the site, then share your thoughts about it here. And stay tuned; I’ll have more waysides on the information highway for you to visit in the near future.
