Is it finally time for Bengals to trade Chad?

‘PFT’ CALLS OCHO CINCO TRADE

TO OAKLAND RAIDERS ‘BOGUS’

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com calls ‘em as he sees ‘em.

And he’s calling the Cincinnati Bengals’ “trade” of wide receiver Chad Ocho Cinco to the Oakland Raiders for running back Michael Bush and a second-round draft pick “Bogus” with a capital “B.”

Florio goes on to call the “bleacherreport.com” item a heap of manure.

Find out why at:

http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/04/05/ochocinco-to-raiders-story-is-bogus/

On a scale of 1 to 10, bleacherreport.com has a credibility rating of minus-50. It’s interesting fiction. However, as a source of NFL news you can use, the Web site has to look up to see bottom.

Chad.jpg
Chad Ocho Cinco

Of course, this doesn’t mean that Chad Johnson Ocho Cinco 85 will be in a Cincinnati Bengals uniform in the fall of 2009.

I really, Really, REALLY like Chad as a person and as a player. But I believe eight years of Chad in Cincinnati is enough.

He needs to go … for his sake and the team’s sake … just like Junior Griffey and Adam Dunn needed to go — out of the Cincinnati Reds clubhouse.

I’m not going to persecute Chad for not showing up for the offseason workout program. After all, it is voluntary.

At the same time, I’m going to hold him accountable for saying he’s going to participate, then going back on his word.

Should the Bengals trade WR Chad Ocho Cinco before the 2009 NFL Draft?

SMOKE & MIRRORS WITH JEREMY MACLIN

With so many needs elsewhere, would the Bengals dare draft WR Michael Crabtree or WR Jeremy Maclin at No. 6 overall?

Nothing the team does surprises me.

Oakland and Jacksonville are desperate for a WR at Nos. 7 and 8, respectively. The Bengals know this. That’s why they’re keeping the Raiders and Jags off balance by their interest in both players.

I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Bengals trade with the Raiders or Jags, move down a slot or two, get the left tackle they want — plus an extra draft pick or two.

Check out the hubbub surrounding Chad, Crabtree & Macklin at:

Appears bleacherreport.com has same credibility as the bankrupt NYTimes socialist rag.

Yep! that’a an apt comparison. We’ll see what we will see - and probably not believe it - it’s the Bengals!

As much as it stings to think they could have the #6 and #13 picks in the draft had they traded Chad last year to the Redskins, ANYTHING they’re offered this year would be sufficient. A draft pick, a special teams drone, a sack of XFL footballs. Anything. Otherwise it’s just another season of the Drew Rosenhaus-orchestrated passive aggressive locker room poison.

Maybe Mr. Credibility, a.k.a. Mike Florio, can start another rumor about Mike Brown hiring a GM. We could use another laugh.

Our Chickster wrote…”I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Bengals trade with the Raiders or Jags, move down a slot or two, get the left tackle they want — plus an extra draft pick or two”. My question is this, who in the Bengals organization will even think of something like this. Who? But COC has to go soon, somewhere, just to get rid of that distraction.

“Socialist Rag” Hey tin foil hat guy, Glen Beck called and he wants you to get ready for the revolution. People around here have no idea what Socialism really is. Its a sad but true commentary on the highly inordinate amount of slack jawed yokels in SW Ohio. In essence, you’re clown shoes …

Trade him, they should have done this three seasons ago. At this point they should trade him for a sniff of Roseanne Barr's a*s crack and a bag of chips!!

Mike Brown’s in love with the guy… The Ocho publicly ripped Brown and the organization last offseason. In response to the tirade, Brown went on the record: “we’re not going to trade Chad Johnson…he’s one of the greatest players in Franchise history…he has a contract to honor”….cmon, Mike Brown LOVES his skill position players….in fact, i wouldn’t be surprised if Chad gets a new contract. in the words of the Allproblogger….it’s just my opinion!

Even though I’m a Steelers fan, the Bengals would be better off addressing their Defense and if trading Chad would allow that to improve the D, it would be worth it. BTW- “Sanity” insulting people on a chat board is pretty lame- especially when you aren’t even on topic.

We were offered TWO number one’s last year and turned it down. Bengals are idiots. Nothing they do surprises me either.

Bye Bye Chad, Cry babies, self proclaimers and me first attitudes will never be great or help teams. Did Jerry Rice ever have this attitude when he wasnt winning? Or Chris Carter? No. Thats why Chad will never be mentioned in the same breath. He doesnt have the ethic and attitude to ever be great. Or win for that matter.

Yes. Should have been gone last year to the Redskins.

I believe if they new last year was going to be a wash-out with CP getting hurt they would have traded him. I said here last month they needed to get rid of both TJ & stinko and let the kids PLAYBALL!

Chad doesn’t play linebacker and he’s not an offensive lineman.Cincinnati hasn’t really had a star embrace the city the way Chad has in a very long time and here we are running him out of town. The blame lies with Brown and Lewis. Come on man. The Kicker?

Before anyone else comments on the state of the Bengal’s defense, be sure to look up where they finished last year. Pass Rushing needs to be addressed, but they are from the crappy defense I hear coming from people’s mouths nowadays. Now imagine, a 12th rated defense with the offense back in swing. That would be scary indeed. Let’s hope the O-line protects Palmer.

The two top tackles are most likely going to be gone @ #6, so trading down to 7 or 8 is not going to help that. Either Andre Smith and Olher should still be available then. The Bengals need a center, OT, and an End. They may end up trading down to 12 with Denver, Smith or Olher may still be on the board at 12. They should also trade up from #6 in round 2 to take Alex Mack, that is a must fill spot, Pitt. will seriously consider him @ 32, Unger is another center that would be a huge upgrade. The Bengals have struggled since Ritchie Brahm retired.

Trade him for anything that’s going to improve the Bengals. Heck, it would be an improvement if we didn’t have to put up with his BS.

it doesnt matter what the bungals do…just as long as brown is in the drivers seat….this team is always looking at 4 - 12 seasons….and if they go to 18 game seasons….the bungals are looking at 3 - 15 seasons…at best

Trade chad for a bag of footballs NOW. Hey Sanity, Glenn Beck has more brains in his pinky than you’ll ever have. You don’t need an Economics degree to understand the path we’re headed down.

I am a raiders fan for life , and I dont like this . Why would the raiders trade for O.C. when they can draft a young WR and still keep Bush

By Raider fan

April 7, 2009 9:35 PM | Link to this

As a Raider fan M. Bush for O.C. would be a horrible trade from our perspective. Justin Vargas for o.c. would work, maybe we throw in a 4th round pick. Bush is one of our best players, he is young and doesn’t have alot of wear and tear on his body. To get Bush you would have to throw in , at least, your 2nd round pick.
