Bengals fans ready to revolt
BANNER TO FLY AT PBS
OCT. 19 VS. STEELERS:
‘STEP DOWN MIKE BROWN’
The Cincinnati Bengals travel to New Jersey — again — for a game against the New York Jets on Sunday, Oct. 12,
That’s a good thing for Bengals president Mike Brown, who is the owner of the franchise that’s trapped in what ABC and ESPN football analyst Kirk Herbstreit calls “the great abyss.”
The Bengals return home to face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Oct. 19 and that’s when the coaches, players and front office will feel the full effect of a fan protest.
Some Bengals fans are planning to fly a “STEP DOWN MIKE BROWN” banner around Paul Brown Stadium prior to the game.
“I don’t think this has reached the extent of the ‘Millen Man March’ that happened in Detroit back in 2005,” one of my colleagues tells me, “but it is a sign of the growing frustration amongst the fan base.”

While this is a noble idea why fly the plane between 11-12 not later when more people would see it? The only people there at this time frame are the tailgaters whose opinion will be the last to change if ever. Nor is the media paying attention 2 hrs before kickoff. Is the time due to FAA regs around stadiums?By rob

FAA regulations won’t allow it during game time. Trust me, much time and thought was put into this.By Lynn

Time for the “BROWN MAN MARCH” to happen in cincinnati. 18 years of this is enough. By the way, add the Reds to it!!!By Lynn

I truly hope it makes everyone feel better to protest like this. I was one of the many escorted out of Riverfront/Cinergy/Whatever the Hell it Was in Shula’s futile regime wearing a bag over my head wearing the original “Mike Brown Step Down” t-Shirt (orange shirt/black lettering). My father, brother and I had been to every game since 1970 until PBS opened up. I started to lose my loyalty when the franchise decided I, as a loyal season ticket holder, needed to pay for the privilege to buy my seat. Mike Brown will never step down. He makes too much money and embarrassing him publicly only makes him more stubborn than he already is. GO TITANS!By DALE 78

I love it .I would love to see a boycott of the Bungles for the rest of the season . Mikey will not step down or change until the fans stop buying tickets to see these losers .By uncoolio

Mike Brown may not have made the fans happy on the field with the teams that he has fielded, but he has created some very interesting post game shows and comments on the old radio. Keep it up Mikey boy, it is good to see someone stir the pot as much as you do. You have single-handedly brought down the moral of an entire city and what is more impressive, you don’t seem to care. Atta boy!By Steven Ross

Won’t make any difference. Mikey will probably give Lewis an extension through 2020. Business as usual.By David

It’s Mike Brown or nothing. Anyone with enough money to buy the franchise will immediately move it to L.A. The NFL wants a L.A. team and from a ownership/financial standpoint, Brown is viewed as competent by the league. If you really want to punish Mike Brown, quit reporting on the Bengals. Media is the fuel of the NFL. With no media coverage, people would quickly lose interest in the Bengals. But make no mistake. There will be no Bengals in Cinci without M.Brown. The Bengals and Mikey are one and the same.By null

Support the ‘Step Down Mike Brown’ movement anyway you can. Don’t go to the game, go to the game and start a chant, don’t buy anything at the stadium, go and walkout, or make a sign. Without a massive effort by the fans nothing will ever change.By Willie Getenerpants

MB is not going anywhere. ML will have to resign in order to leave this team. When the seats stay empty on game day, only then will MB make a coaching change. Shula could have stayed here as long as the seats were full. Save money and stay home. Writing on Chick’s page is more fun anyway!By Walkman

Without Mike Brown, Cincinnati would never have gotten an NFL team in the first place (yes, he chose the city for his dad). And I agree that the minute Mike sells the team, we can kiss them goodbye. No one is going to revolt, and I can’t think of a more idiotic way to spend my money than buying a banner to protest Mike Brown. I hope he gets a good laugh out of it. At least he’s not as evil as Art Modell or the casino owning Rooney brothers. Get a clue, people.By Jason H

Mike brown is not only the most hated but the owner with the lowest winning percentage in all of professional sports. To say that Mike Brown steps down Cincinnati will lose the Bengals is just retarded especially with an established arena football team set up as part of the NFL teamBy Mike Brown Sux

The Bengals aren’t going to LA or anywhere else. Hamilton county tax payers put up $500 million and tied the Bengals w/ a lease to PBS to Cincy for the next 30 or so years. So bring on the MIKE BROWN hatred!By Ex-Bengal Fan

The Cowboys game was the first time I turned off a Bengal game in 40 years. I am tired of a team that has all week to prepare for a game and opens with an interception on the first play. You have two-pro bowl wide receivers and throw to a TE coverded by a pro bowler. This organization is losing fans. I am trying to make myself become a Titans fan since they are closer to me then the Bungles.By Nathan R

The problem is Marvin Lewis, not Mike Brown. Brown has ok’d going after free agents like Warren Sapp in the past. This is Marvin’s team. They are progressively getting worse. Lewis needs to go, not Brown. The only way I will ticked at Brown is if he doesn’t fire Lewis at the end of the year.
